I recently came across a conversation on TikTok that made me stop and think:

“If Macy’s is the new JCPenney, does that make Nordstrom the new Macy’s?”

Unfortunately, in my humble (yet professional) opinion, the answer is a resounding yes.

Once a shining gem in a mall full of lackluster retailers, Nordstrom has lost its sparkle. It used to be the perfect balance of aspiration and accessibility—offering both splurge-worthy treats and reliable wardrobe staples.
