Let’s start in the middle.
At the end of July 2006, I worked at QVC in their buying office. One night, I was in the studio, off to the side of all the lights and cameras, overseeing one of our product launches at midnight.
According to protocol, I should not have been there. This was my boss's brainchild, but just a day before the launch, she told me to take her place at the airing "in case anything happened."
