Thank you for your honesty and insight. Truly jaw-dropping. I’m not a social media person. I only follow you for fashion advice and I read every word of your emails. I look forward to them. You’ve given me confidence around stylish dressing and help me spend my money only where it makes sense as it relates to clothes and accessories. Have a wonderful time with your family at the beach.
Thanks for sharing and being so honest about content creation!! I can't imagine the time it takes. You are truly one of the best. Your information and experience are so relevant. And I love that you encourage your readers to use what we have and not settle and just buy what is being marketed at the moment. Thank you, you do make a difference! And enjoy the shore...i grew up just outside of NYC and spent many weeks there (Long Beach Island) growing up!!!
Thanks so much for giving us a peek into what goes into what we see! Truthfully it makes me appreciate you even more. Your posts have really helped me define my style over the past year or so - grateful for this space!
I personally don't know what I would do without you Meg! You have totally changed my world when it comes to clothes. I have updated my wardrobe based on your recommendations and I receive compliments almost daily. For the first time in my life I have accepted what I look like in clothes and my self esteem is better than it has ever been. I admire the heck out of you for starting your own business also. It takes true grit and hard work. You are helping so many of us out here, and I appreciate you more than you know! Thank you!!
For myself, I don't need to see 25 to 30 Pinterest uploads a day. I am happy to be a subscriber to your Substack page or whatever it is called. If you need to bump the price in order to keep givind such great content, I promise not to whine. Do what you need to do to be profitable and sane. You provide such a wonderful service and for that, I thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing! While I knew a lot went in to being a blogger/creator, I had no idea about some of the "other" things you spoke about. I did have a good laugh when you talked about partnerships and Nordstrom. (your right! - they have become boring and the Nordstrom near me has nothing!) Your honesty about EVERYTHING is the biggest thing I love about TWDL! In my opinion, your posts are always REAL and fresh! Many, many, thanks for all you do! :)
I agree with Jeannie...I could feel the anxiety rising in my body as I was reading and imagining the stress you are under every day! I am so thrilled that you have a month at the shore and truly hope you get some time to relax and enjoy your family. I have a couple of questions about how we can help, other than being paid subscribers. Which actions help you the most? Is it best for the algorithms and your exposure if we comment on your blog posts, interact on your FB page, interact in the private FB group, save your pins, comment on instagram, something else? Let us know if there is a specific way that we can help!
Preach Guuuurrrrl 🙌🏼 I get it! I’m an online marketer who works with life coaches. I build out their sales funnels from top to bottom and I know first hand what it’s like to be on the content hamster wheel 🐹 and the algorithms 🤪 are an endless mystery. Owning an online business isn’t for the faint of heart. You’re doing great!!!
Thank you Meg, even though we are in different industries and opposite sides of the country I feel as though we have known each other for a long time. I honestly don’t know how I got through the shut downs without you. I know your industry is crazy I paid for my daughters degrees in coding, graphic design etc and watch her stress sometimes. But even though I have business challenges myself I always feel so much better reading your emails and getting dressed in the morning. You truly are a friend. Thank you 💕
Thank you for the story! I’ve wondered many times about the life of influencers. It seems easy but your story gives detailed information of how hard it is. I’m anxious for you after reading this. So glad that you found a way to compensate for the ups and downs I’m thankful for your dedication and hard work. I love all that you do for us. You are the best!
Thanks for the back story - it all looks easy, but certainly is not. Question: a couple of times you have mentioned “going live”. I have looked all over but cannot find any videos. I so enjoy them - how can I access them. Thanks!
Thank you for this—becoming relevant on SM is hard work. You detailed the pieces and parts, and I am glad I'm not in your shoes (even though I know they are perfect for the occasion :)). As a small business owner, I am constantly looking for ways to share my message in a way that teaches, not preaches, and is not sales-focused. Keep up the great work—we appreciate it!!
Megan I am relatively new to your group but I really love everything including this information. I truly believe that EVERYONES job is hard, just hard in different ways. I support your decision to think about a way to make money without banner ads, I am in! Also as someone who works in IT, IT issues are even difficult for me, I can relate.
For a time I promoted the antique market that I vend at. They paid me $200 a month (begrudgingly lol). Just that little, insignificant in the grand scheme of things job, took me roughly 12 hours a week. TikTok, Instagram, Facebook. It worked out to me being paid less than $5 an hour.
I have been a long time follower of your blog, and social media. I subscribe to your SubStack. Your content has consistently upped my style game, and I've never bought an item you recommended that failed. You deserve every penny you earn - and lots more! Enjoy the shore with your family! Thank you for what you do!
The first sentence just made me laugh but I wanted to tell you that you probably have no idea how important your job is to so many people that you will probably never meet. I was an early follower of TWDL and loved that you were open and honest about things and didn’t have many paid sponsorships. Also, I can’t tell you how many times an event is coming up or an impromptu party and I am standing in my closet silently thanking you for your great recommendations.
Also, that whole pandemic time really made my anxiety worse. 1000% your morning posts about “silly” clothes recommendations and your honesty about how it was hard for you too became part of my morning routine at a time all routines went out the window.
Your silly job became a kind of therapy for me and I’m sure others. And I kind of had an amazing wardrobe and cleaner closet too when it was over.
This might sound nuts but I can remember wiping off our groceries in the garage and thinking is this our new life - but I would go and look at my organized closet with new hangers and great options to wear and FEEL like things were going to be ok.
So, I just wanted to say thank you for all that you do and it is SO appreciated!

I love Substack, and am also happy to pay more. I love the outfit formulas and the Pinterest in real life. Thank you for sharing the inside story!
